Our story began in December 2024 at a young adults’ Christmas gala in San Diego. Winston and I were both there with friends when we crossed paths on the dance floor. He introduced himself and we ended up spending the rest of the evening chatting and dancing, and by the end of the night he asked for my number. We hit it off right away and talked every day leading up to our first date. That first date, however, did not go quite as expected. So when he asked about a second date, I politely declined, and assumed we’d simply move on with our lives as usual — especially since we had no mutual friends and he lived an hour and a half away from me. So, much to our surprise, just a week later we ran into each other again at a New Year’s Eve party in Pasadena! We exchanged a quick hello and a “funny seeing you here!” and moved along. It was brief, but enough to get me thinking. A few days later, I decided to take a chance and I asked him out for that second date — and honestly I’d say it turned out pretty well, considering where we are today! We are deeply grateful for how God has guided our story, and we’re overjoyed to be entering into the sacrament of marriage!
