We've created this website as a helpful resource to find everything you need/want to know about our upcoming nuptials. Here you'll find the schedule for our Big Day, some extra events happening throughout the week, local accommodations, travel information, updates, and things to do in the local area for those traveling from outside the Philippines. You can also find out a little bit about our love story so far and learn more about our awesome bridal party. We even address some questions you might have! Please continue to check this website periodically as we will continue to update you as we get closer to the Big Day! We are so incredibly excited and cannot wait to share this special day with you all. Thank you for all your love and well wishes so far. See you in Manila! Love, Grace & Will
Will and I first met at a mutual friends' kickback (do they still call it kickbacks?). Neither of us thought too much of it at the time and we never really kept in touch. Little did I know that this brief encounter would later be the start of something more. Many years later, Will messaged me out of the blue. We spent the next couple of days texting back and forth, talking on the phone, and then finally decided to meet up and get boba. I learned that night that Will might possibly love boba as much as I do, and that's when I first thought, "Okay, this could be something..." One day while I was out with a friend (Maryan - one of the bridesmaids!), I was telling Maryan about "a friend of mine". Will found out that we were in the area and told us to stop by his work because he had bought some goodies from Porto's Bakery. When we finally met up, Will was carrying two large bags of pastries for me to take home. Will invited Maryan and I out to dinner that night, as well. On the way home, Maryan told me - "He likes you! A guy doesn't buy that much Porto's AND take you and a friend out to dinner if he's not into you!!" Maryan invited herself to the wedding that very night. As it turns out, she was right. Over the next couple months, Will and I started hanging out more. We would spend the next three years exploring new places, trying out new restaurants, coffee and boba shops, going on new adventures, and even overcoming challenges and obstacles - including a pandemic! We did it all together. It took Will and I a few years (and significant others) to reconnect. Our love story did not start with a spark initially, but we eventually found each other again at the right time and realized we belonged together.
Will said he had started thinking about a proposal at the beginning of 2020, after two years of dating. Around this time, we had been planning a trip to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris, and Will thought any one of those places would be the perfect backdrop for a proposal. Then, the pandemic hit. We were all put on lockdown and the world came to a halt. Will's original plan fell through and as quarantine went from weeks to months, Will realized that he had to come up with another plan. One weekend in December 2020, Will planned a weekend getaway to San Diego - a very special place for us. Will had told me this was a getaway to celebrate my mom's birthday, but at the last minute, she "changed her mind" and decided not to go anymore. I tried to convince Will to just cancel the trip, but somehow, they both convinced me to go on the trip anyways. Will surprised me with a gondola ride on Coronado Island as an "early Christmas gift". During the gondola ride, I noticed Will wasn't acting himself. He was awkward and unusually quiet. For those that don't know, Will is the biggest goofball. I thought he was still worked up from our drive down because we nearly missed our gondola ride thanks to LA traffic. Finally, as the gondola reached the end of the canal, Will stood up, knelt in front of me, and as we both started to tear up, Will finally proposed. We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives and we can't wait to celebrate with you!
