How We Met

If you haven't heard our story yet, it's a pretty unique one. Tucker and I have known each other pretty much our entire lives. Our parents were friends and even started a church together, Jeff (Tucker's dad) was our pastor growing up. We were close as little kids but as life went on and we grew up, life happened and we drifted a part but our families always remained friends. Fast forward 10+ years, Tucker graduated from Kennesaw State University and I graduated from the University of Georgia, we both found ourselves working/living in the Buckhead/Brookhaven area. I was crazy and thought it would be a good idea to get a puppy (a mini golden doodle who turned out to be a very big golden doodle). When I posted a picture of my adorable little Baxter, I got a text from Tricia (Tucker's mom) and she asked where I had gotten him, I told her and well let's just say she was on the road within an hour to go pickup Baxter's brother, Finn. Fast forward another 6 months or so after that, I am eating dinner with one of my friends at my favorite restaurant in Brookhaven (Verde- if you haven't been, run don't walk) and as I am leaving I hear my name being yelled from across the parking lot. I turn around and it's Tucker Lewis who I haven't seen in at least 5 years, probably more (if you ask me, it was actually raining, he ran after me, it was very romantic like a movie, but really I don't think any of that actually happened). We talked for a minute and then went on about our days. Although we didn't get each others numbers that night, I was pretty certain he at least had mine or could have easily gotten it from someone if he really wanted to text me but 2 weeks went by and nothing (remember this is all from my perspective). I decided to be bold and text him and just say that it was fun running into him and suggest that we get the dogs together sometime (I was very proud of this idea and worked on this text with my co-workers for about 2 days haha). Once I finally sent the text, we decided to meet up with the dogs at Lady Bird on the belt line, we had a great time reconnecting and letting the dogs play but it was still kind of unclear if it was a date or not. Conveniently, I was moving the next weekend so had a great excuse to see Tucker again regardless of if it was a date or if we were just friends and asked/he volunteered to help me move. After that we probably both tell the story a little differently but needless to say, the rest is history. So many fun dates and memories together from that point on to March 8th, 2025 when he surprised me and proposed on the front porch of my sorority house in Athens, GA. We truly have no words except to look back on all of it and just absolutely know that God orchestrated our relationship without a doubt and has had this amazing plan all a long and we are forever grateful.
