HOW WE MET

Sometime in June, 2015

In the February of 2015, I moved back home to the small town of Montesano, WA to help out with the family business. My dad had recently moved banks to a place that was an hour away. I remember telling him, "Dad, why the heck did you move our business account to a place an hour away. This is not efficient man." But my first week, when I walked into that bank, I saw a beautiful girl working behind the cashier desk. I walked up to her counter and she began to help me with my deposit. I remember feeling like I should say something rather than sitting there in awkward silence. So, I said, "What's your name? She said, "I'm Training." "Training?! That's a funny name!" She smiled and laughed, and that's the first time I ever met Grace. From that moment, I went to see her once a week at the bank and we slowly became friends. Then one day, probably a year into going there, I got in my car, started the engine, and suddenly I heard a voice. That voice said, "If you don't wake up to that smile every day for the rest of your life, you're an idiot." So the very next week, I finally had the guts to ask her out for food. She said, "Yes." And the rest is history. I know I could get into more detail, but I can go on and on. All I can say is that God works in the most mysterious ways. I never would have thought moving back home to Montesano, WA would have led me to my soulmate. But it did and I am so truly grateful.

THE PROPOSAL

JULY 1, 2019

While we were in Korea over the summer, I had booked a photoshoot session with Tony. My goal was to have a few cute pictures of us to remember the trip. During the photoshoot, the photographer had me stand facing a plant wall and had me turned around on que. When I did, I saw Tony down on one knee with a ring, nervously smiling. The photographer had brought many props for us to use, so thinking that the ring was one of the props, I innocently chuckled and said, "Haha, nice prop!" Still with a nervous smile and now sweat dripping from his forehead, Tony asked me, "Will you marry me?" Soon realizing what's going on, I burst out laugh and tears at the same time and said "YES!!!"
