Seminary — Where It All Began We met as fellow seminarians. At Kaiser Chapel. Just acquaintances at first—Ting, a first-year; Grace, a third-year. But we connected through a shared love and passion for worship. Over two years, the friendship deepened. And then, something shifted. God was already writing our story. We just didn’t know it yet.
Castle Island
During the week of Grace's graduation in May 2022, Ting took Grace and a couple of other friends to Castle Island. It was a cold day, and according to Ting, it was the first time he held Grace’s hands to keep her warm. Fast forward three years... Ting brought Grace back to the same spot, got down on one knee, and proposed with a beautiful ring. Castle Island is a scenic spot perfect for a seaside walk, with the added excitement of watching planes come and go from Logan Airport. If you’re feeling hungry, stop by Sullivan’s Castle Island—an iconic local favorite since 1951—for a lobster roll and other classic bites.
Singing Beach
A beautiful beach stretched near the seminary campus. This was a place Grace had visited countless times, yet never once had she heard the beach “sing.” That changed the day she brought Ting there for the first time. As they walked along a wobbly wooden ramp, Grace instinctively took Ting’s arm for support. The simple gesture stirred something in the air. Ting seized the moment to “DTR” (Define the Relationship). It was then that Grace, for the first time, confessed her feelings for Ting. And from that moment on, the rest was history.
Village Pancake House
Once Grace confessed her feelings, Ting officially asked her out on a date. That very spot became the setting of their first “official” date, where they shared a warm, delicious breakfast together.
Snowport Holiday Market
It had been a little over a year since they broke up, but God had clearly been at work—gently shaping their hearts back toward one another. In November 2024, Ting took Grace to one of his favorite holiday events, the Snowport Market in Seaport, and asked her to be his girlfriend. Grace was ready—and more than eager—to say yes.

Though Grace is afraid of heights, Ting knew how much she loved the sky. So he brought her to one of the highest points in Boston, a place where they could take in the entire city skyline together.
New England Aquarium
The Boston Aquarium—one of Boston’s favorite spots for fun and wonder—is where Ting took Grace for a splashy adventure. There, Grace had an unforgettable, up-close encounter with a charming turtle, making memories that were truly shell-tastic!
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum had been on Grace’s must-visit list since 2018. So for her birthday this year, Ting surprised her with a trip to this enchanting museum—a dream come true for Grace!
Lynnfield Marketplace
Lynn Marketplace—where Grace and Ting hit the ice and discovered who the better skater really is. (Spoiler: it’s Grace!)
Public Garden
Boston Public Garden—where we took our engagement photos at 7 AM. It was peaceful, beautiful, and officially the earliest photoshoot Grace has ever experienced in her life (and probably ever will)!
Spring Shabu-Shabu
Spring Shabu — our hot pot happy place. We love everything about it, but the real star? The unlimited matcha soft serve ice cream. We even celebrated our engagement here with friends, filling our hearts (and bowls) to the brim.
Seoul Soulongtang
Since moving to Boston for her doctoral studies, Grace was delighted to discover she lived just 5–10 minutes from Allston—the city’s unofficial K-town. Whenever she craved some soul food (no pun intended), Ting would happily bring her here… again and again.
Joyful Garden Watertown
Ting officially introduced Grace to the wonderful world of dim sum—and she’s never looked back! Through these delicious meals, Ting also shared a taste of his Cantonese culture, making each visit extra meaningful. This spot has become one of their favorite go-to places for steaming baskets, shared bites, and full hearts.
Bits & Bites Bakery + Cafe
Now it was Grace’s turn to share a piece of her culture. At Bits and Bites Bakery, she introduced Ting to traditional Filipino breakfast dishes—topsilog, ube latte, and all the comforting flavors she grew up with. Filipino food is rare in Massachusetts, so discovering this cozy café just 10 minutes from Ting’s home felt like a little gift. Grace was thrilled—and Ting was happily full.
Depot Diner
Depot Diner — the beloved diner near the seminary. Our go-to spot for omelettes during seminary days, known for its big portions and even bigger comfort.
Matcha Cafe Maiko
A favorite café of ours that serves two of Grace’s great loves: matcha and ube! While this isn’t where Grace first introduced Ting to matcha, it’s definitely one of their go-to spots for a sweet treat.
Ten One Tea House
Ten One — a bubble tea haven for two enthusiasts. Ting took Grace there on his birthday, making it a sweet and memorable celebration spot they both love.
