Our Story

In the spring of 2023, Thomas saw Grace for the first time. She walked into the sanctuary of Perkinsville Baptist Church with a radiant smile, capturing brown eyes, and the ability to bring a smile to anyone she spoke with. He thought that she was way too beautiful and out of his league. He watched her worship a few pews ahead and admired her passion and heart for Jesus. He kept his distance, wishfully thinking. A few months passed, and in the summer of 2023, they met in a backyard bible study around a campfire. She said to her friend Sue, “if he asked me on a date, I would say yes,” all the while, Thomas was wondering if she even knew his name. After some time, he asked her on a hike, while he had a torn ACL. She said no. In June of 2024, they began seeing each other. In July, Thomas asked her to be his girlfriend on a mountaintop. Dating was exciting and encouraging to both of them, in the truth that God was the center of it all. He showed up when times were great and when times were tough, and was always faithful. By God’s provision, Thomas asked her to marry him on a mountaintop in February 2026 in front of 3 crosses. As we write this, engaged and to be married in November, all we can do is give glory to God. Because of our understanding of Him, we can laugh, forgive, pray, love, and walk through this life with one another, demonstrating a love that is rooted in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we approach our wedding day, we recognize that we are not only preparing for a day, but for a lifetime of marriage together, seeking the goodness and glory of God and sharing His love with others.
