how we met

Grace and I met in February 2025 at Turning Point Community Church here in Lubbock. It was my very first time at Tribe (our college ministry) and at the time, we just had a few quick interactions here and there. Nothing crazy… just enough to know of each other. Then in June, I was asked to join the leadership team—where Grace was already serving—and from there, things started to shift. Over the summer, we found ourselves noticing each other more and more. By the end of July, we decided to grab coffee after church one Sunday just to get to know each other. And honestly… that one coffee changed everything. What started as a simple hangout turned into a really special friendship, and it didn’t take long before we both realized we were becoming best friends. So we kept it going—meeting for coffee every week. During that time, we started reading "Loveology" together. We wanted to be intentional about understanding each other’s values, boundaries, and what a relationship rooted in Christ should look like. We even said we’d finish the book before officially dating… which we technically did—but definitely rushed a little at the end because we were so ready to just be together. Truthfully, even before we made anything official, we both knew this wasn’t something casual—dating is for marriage. Fast forward to February 14th, 2026. I got down on one knee and asked her, “Will you marry me?” I don’t even remember hearing her say yes—I was way too nervous and excited—but everything about that moment (and celebrating right after with our people) made it clear… I get to spend the rest of my life with her. We’re so thankful for the way the Lord brought us together so naturally, and for the friends and family who have supported and shaped us along the way. We seriously can’t wait to celebrate with all of you on August 7th
