The Wedding Website of Grace Silicato and Samuel Mauro
We are so excited to have everyone joining us in Chesapeake City, Maryland for our wedding. Below are some recommendations for places to eat in Philadelphia and Chesapeake City, as well as some fun historical places to sightsee!

Travel Note

Philadelphia Food Recommendations

We are sure everyone is wondering where to get an infamous cheesesteak in Philadelphia. Our first choice would be for you to try Tony and Nick's (formerly Tony Luke's) on Oregon Ave for a quality cheesesteak. If you are looking for roast beef, we highly recommend going to Nick's Roast Beef for one of the best sandwiches you've ever had! *Please note that for both of these stops, you should have your order ready for what kind of steak or sandwich you would like. As always cash is king, although Tony and Nick's does accept card now!*

Travel Note

Chesapeake City Food Recommendations

For breakfast, we recommend Cafe on the Bay for a good quick coffee/breakfast spot! For lunches and dinners, you really can't go wrong with any restaurant, but we recommend The Chesapeake Inn (deck is casual, dining room is formal), Schaefer's Canal House, and The Bayard House. We highly recommend our favorite restaurant: Prime 225!

Travel Note

Old City Philadelphia

If you have time during your trip, we recommend visiting Old City in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is rich with history, and only about 45 minutes from Chesapeake City. While you're there, be sure to book a tour of Independence Hall, see the Liberty Bell, visit the Betsy Ross house, or see Benjamin Franklin's grave.

Travel Note

Old New Castle

If you enjoy history, be sure to check out Old New Castle in Delaware! Originally founded in 1651, this small city still has old brick sidewalks and cobblestone streets. If you choose to visit Old New Castle, we recommend stopping by the historic Jessup's Tavern (built in 1674) for a meal or stopping by The Mercury Cafe and Teahouse for a cup of tea! The following historic sites are available for tour: The George Read House (one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence), Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green, New Castle Court House Museum, the Amstel House, and the Dutch House.

Travel Note

C&D Canal Museum

While staying in Chesapeake City, we recommend going into the C&D Canal Museum. It provides the construction history the C&D canal and also has some of the original waterwheels on display for the lock system that was used historically.

Flight

Philadelphia International Airport

We recommend our out-of-town guests book flights in and out of Philadelphia International Airport.
