We met through the young adults community at Vineyard Church. We didn’t think much of it until we went line dancing together that summer. Somehow, we were always able to find each other in every room, knew what the other was thinking, and could easily make each other laugh. There was lots of bantering, laughter, knowing smiles, and line dancing that summer. By the end of it, we were becoming friends. That fall, we went on a day hiking trip with our friends to Red River Gorge. Grace called shotgun while Ryan drove. On the hike, Grace kept turning the group around, while Ryan corrected her navigation skills. At sunset, Grace kept trying to subtly get Ryan to sit next to her and take a photo. Finally, on the third try, he did. Four days later, Ryan asked Grace if she had feelings for him. She said, “Maybe.” He replied, “Well, I like you,” and Grace quickly changed her answer to, “I like you too.” After that, things moved slowly until a few weeks before Christmas, when he officially asked Grace to be his girlfriend. December was a month filled with joy, family, and lots of celebration. After dating for nine months, we got engaged on Ryan’s grandpa’s farm in Indiana. Every day, we learn new things about each other, and our love continues to grow. We can’t wait to celebrate and invite you further into the story that God has been narrating since day one.
