Even though we've lived 5 minutes apart practically our whole lives, the Lord knew the right timing and I didn't meet Robbie until the summer after high school. By then he was a college athlete with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Three years older than me, he was goofy and fun when we first spent time together as lifeguards that summer. When I went off to the University of Kentucky, I got to see just how loyal and devoted he could be. The next 6 years, we navigated long distance, saw each other through medical training, and started our jobs as Physician Assistants. We've grown so much in our communication, patience, and love for each other. Every day he shows me at least 10 reasons why I still can't wait to be married to him! - Grace I often think back to the first time I met Grace. I always believed love at first sight was a cliche term. However, when I first saw her in that "Wendy Peppercorn" one piece red lifeguard suit I started to believe a bit more. It was summer of 2017, Grace was the new girl working at the CCP (Corbin City Pool) that year. I had just completed my sophomore year of college and was excited to start my 5th year working my summer job as a lifeguard. It started off as just playful flirting, I didn't hesitate to haze her being the new girl on the block. She was beautiful, smart, spunky, sassy and just fun to be around. We lived practically 5 minutes away from each other our entire lives, we went to the same high school. We had heard of each other but never met till that summer. I remember being with my mom (a teacher at CHS and had Grace in class) and my aunt Melissa, and asking them if I should ask her out. They both agreed I would be "stupid if I didn't". Little did I know that 6 years later after doing long distance for more than half that time, as she did her undergraduate and medical training at UK and mine at UC over 100 miles away, this girl would become my best friend, confidant and lover. We have been through good times and bad thus far, but her love for me never wavers. We have always tried to put the Lord first and each other second and it has worked out so far. I can't wait to marry her and continue with all the laughs, UK games, family events, local taco dates and endless love that I feel when I am with her. -Robbie
