Things To Do

So many of you are coming from out of state! We are so excited to see you at our wedding, but if you happen to have some extra time we put together this list for you. There is truly nowhere better than Massachusetts in the Summer, so feel free to check out some of our recommendations!

Island Creek Oysters

403-9 Washington Street, Duxbury, MA 02332

Phil worked for Island Creek when the two of them started dating. Since then, the outdoor raw bar has become even better than it was. If you have some time and want to enjoy the sunset with a beer in one hand and an oyster in the other, look no further!

Duxbury Beach

Duxbury, MA 02332

Walk (or drive) across the beautiful Powderpoint Bridge in Duxbury to lounge on the beach that Philip used to go to growing up in Massachusetts. We even came here on our second date too! While we now prefer to go to Grace's childhood beach, Duxbury beach is much more accessible for those visiting from out of town. Check it out and don't forget to bring some sunscreen!

Plymouth Rock

79 Water Street, Plymouth, MA 02360

Just go. Experience the magnificence and wonder of where our great nation began.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Boston, MA 02109

We can't have a list of things to do in the area without adding a few recommendations in Boston. The city is the perfect size to navigate however you see fit and Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a great place to start! Either take the quick walk over to the water, head up the North End and get lost, or head on down to the Seaport and enjoy the fastest growing area of Boston!

Fenway Park

4 Jersey Street, Boston, MA 02215

I think its actually a crime in the state of Massachusetts to not include Fenway Park on a list of places to go. Yes, it is the oldest ballpark in the country, it has a lot of character, and it is ALWAYS a fantastic atmosphere for people of all ages. No matter how well the Sox are doing when you are visiting, if there is a game at Fenway while you're in town, we wholeheartedly recommend you try your best to attend. If you don't feel like paying for a ticket or the Sox aren't playing while you're here, check out Bleacher Bar which is attached to the ballpark and overlooks the field.

Starland Sportsplex & Fun Park

637 Washington Street, Hanover, MA 02339

If you are visiting with kids and need something to keep them occupied while you're here without driving super far away, look no further than Starland. From mini golf to laser tag, bumper cars to go karts, there are so many different things to do here. Starland also has 8 indoor basketball/volleyball courts as well as 4 indoor soccer fields that are all available to rent by the hour. Philip and his friends often play basketball at Starland once or twice a week, so if you're itching to do some sporting activities, Starland has you covered!

Wedding Invitational Golf Tournament

If you are going to be in town the weekend before the wedding, Philip may or may not be organizing a small golf tournament somewhere in the area for guests and friends of his. If you think you are going to arrive the weekend before the wedding and would be interested in something like this, please send him a message so he can gauge interest. Please do NOT book travel or lodging arrangements for this unless you are 100% sure you want to attend and Philip lets you know it is definitely happening OR you were already going to be arriving that weekend anyways.

Damien's

279 Spring Street, Hanson, MA 02341

Now this recommendation is coming straight from Philip. Damien's was a staple restaurant for him and his friends to go to growing up. A little dive bar in a little town not far from where he grew up. Damien's is small, not upscale at all, loud and the parking situation is horrendous. With all of that in mind, if you are the type of person who enjoys little dive bars and you want to try the signature South Shore bar style pizza, Damien's is an absolute gem.

Wonderful Nails

333 Columbia Road, Hanover, MA 02339
, 781-826-0057

This recommendation comes from Grace. If you are looking to get a manicure, a pedicure or both, this is your place to go. Grace frequents this salon every 3 weeks for her dip manicure and has no complaints. The salon is a little tight, so if you are going to come (especially with guests) we recommend calling ahead.

Nantasket Beach

Hull, MA

If you are looking for a beach with entertainment and food options, Nantasket beach is the way to go. Many of Grace's current and former students are employed at the various restaurants and shops. We both recommend stopping by the Paragon arcade which has an outdoor bar and consistent live music.
