Maid of Honor
Bride's sister and Irish twin, Grace and Kelsey will technically both be the same age on the big day! Kelsey has been there from the start. From the early days of sharing a room, the two sometimes fought like cats and dogs. With time and age, the two developed an even closer bond, realizing that having a sister is family and best friend rolled into one!
Maid of Honor
Sister of the Groom and "Seeeester" of the bride! Grace and Rachel became fast friends through trips to NYC and holidays spent at the Spelmans. As a child, Rachel told Philip he needed, "so much grace." Now Grace can't imagine celebrating this day without Rachel by her side!
Bridesmaid
Friends since Kindergarten, Mary Lynne has been a staple in Grace's life from the beginning! From Woodmont park, swim team, carving totem poles, The Last Unicorn, and more, ML has been there for all of it and continues to be a dear friend and source of support to this day!
Bridesmaid
From 7th grade sleepovers to galas and fine dining experiences, Rachel and Grace have come a long way! Rachel is a consistent and loyal friend. She consistently wrangles all of her friends to stay connected and is often described as the "backbone" of the Harpeth Hall friend group.
Bridesmaid
Friends since the Julia Green Elementary days through supporting each other as each took on a second career in Nursing, Grace and Natalie have been through a lot of life together! They have a shared love of Cheez-Itz and pop-tarts, Mr. Bill's cookies, music, walks at Percy Warner, and never shy away from philosophical conversations, which have added depth to their life-long friendship.
In Loving Memory
Grace wouldn't be here today without the love and support from her honorary bridesmaid, Phoebe Hurst. Grace and Phoebe met and became fast friends back in Auburn, AL. United by their love of coffee, whiskey, dark humor, music, Jesus, and adventure, these two epitomized C.S. Lewis' quote, "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one." These two shared countless memories in Montevallo, Birmingham, and Nashville. Phoebe graciously shared her home and family with Grace during her time in the military while she was stationed at the 908th in Montgomery, AL. Phoebe was known fondly as P, INFJ twin, Pepper, peanut butter, and sister. When Phoebe left this side of earth in 2022, a part of Grace went with her, but Grace believes part of Phoebe also stayed behind to look after her and, in some way, has a knowing and sharing in the joys that come her way. So, in the words of Phil Hurst, Grace "remembers Phoebe" and her contribution to her life and she honors her presence in this sacred union with Philip, feeling Phoebe's unwavering support by her side.
Best Man
Philip and Austin have been friends since the oldest home movies as neighbors sharing a back yard. The two remained best friends through different schools, years of boy scout trips, summer camps, and shared obsessions. Philip was the Best Man in Austin & his Wife, Taylor’s, wedding and is lovingly referred to as ‘Uncle Dude’ by their son Myles. Austin lives in Nashville and founded and runs his own Digital Advertising Agency.
Best Man
Philip and Jason met in Kindergarten, remained friends throughout childhood, and that friendship grew as they did. Living in the neighborhood, although opposite sides, the summer swim team kept them together. Jason has been a constant best friend in Philip’s adult life from golf rounds, to mountain weekends, to major home assembly projects and the often joked ‘child’ of Philip & Grace. Jason lives in Nashville and is a Flight Instructor for aspiring Pilots.
Groomsman
Philip met JTIII sometime freshman year, but I think Jack met Philip early sophomore year. The scholarship Tight End and the walk-on kicker make an odd couple, but hey it worked. Philip and Jack were two peas in a pod from there on out in the football facility, in the frat house with many a shenanigan, bowl game adventures, coming to Steeplechase, living side by side senior year working odd jobs and aggressively playing Catan. Philip and Jack have remained close through years of different cities and jobs. Jack went on to play in the NFL, coach NCAA, and is now living in Greensboro, NC working as a NFL Contract Advisor and Venture manager.
Groomsman
Philip and Rob met freshman year of college in what started as a mild dislike between pledge brothers turned into a lifelong friendship. Many stories from college may be for another day, but a few we can tell involve Chapel Hill Bars with ‘John’, Pinehurst Tournaments, Fraternity Events, Harbour Town Golfing, and Duke v UNC Final Four to name a few. Rob was the only Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity President to pledge twice, it was great. Rob went on to Georgia Law school and now lives in New York as a Managing Director of an Advisory Firm.
Groomsman
Philip and Justin became friends in late elementary school and lived a few streets apart. Together with Austin, these three reigned terror on their parents and the neighborhood. Justin and Philip shared an early passion for playing high school football (later replaced by golf) that continued through to a drive to go to all Titans games as the Vrabel Jrs. From coworkers at Edgenet to Ski Trips, there were years of them joint at the hip. Justin now lives in Tampa, FL and works as a Senior Surgical Sales Manager.
