Our Story- Her Version

Matched online, met on my 21st — the best birthday gift ever.

Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. We met on a dating app, but little did I know that simple swipe would lead to the love of my life. We officially met in person on my 21st birthday at Whiskey Cowgirl. I invited him, not really expecting him to show up — but he did. That night turned out to be more special than I could’ve imagined. Just a few days later, I was randomly craving McAlister’s around 9 p.m. I mentioned it, not thinking much of it, and he drove all the way to bring me a wrap. I was honestly speechless — no guy had ever done something so thoughtful and sweet for me. From that moment, I knew he was different. Our first official date came shortly after: dinner at a Mexican restaurant, a round of games at Dave & Buster’s, and we ended the night laughing and dancing at Reagan’s Retro Bar. Since that night, we’ve been completely inseparable. Together, we’ve experienced so many milestones — from moving into our first apartment, celebrating our first holidays, and taking our first vacation, to surviving (and thriving through!) the ups and downs of nursing school. Through it all, he’s been my steady, loving rock. Then, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, I thought we were headed to the Read House for family pictures. But instead, I got the surprise of a lifetime — he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And now here we are — ready to say “I do” and begin the next chapter of our story.

Our Story- His Version

A birthday, a caesar wrap, and a yes.

We met on Hinge, and not long after, she invited me to her 21st birthday party at Whiskey Cowgirl. She didn’t think I’d actually show up—but I did. She was really shy and barely looked me in the eyes, but I thought it was cute and genuine. Her friends were awesome, and I had a great time. A few days later, we were on the phone when she mentioned how hungry she was and said she was craving a McAlister’s grilled chicken caesar salad wrap. By pure luck, I was across the street from one, so I picked one up and dropped it off too her. That small moment turned into something more—we started hanging out all the time, or talking on the phone when we weren’t together. Our first official date was simple but perfect: Mexican food, games at Dave & Buster’s, a late-night drive, and dancing at a retro bar until closing. From that night on, things just clicked. Not long after, we got an apartment together and life started feeling like one long sleepover. On December 15th, I teamed up with her momma and her favorite photographer to plan a “family photo session”—but really, it was the moment I asked her to marry me. She said yes, and now here we are.
