Just around 5 miles outside of Ferndale is Clendenen's apple orchard, which has been passed down four generations. Planted in 1869, the orchard houses over 700 trees. With a great mix between farmland and coast, the Centerville Beach County Park has stunning grasslands with cliffside views of the Pacific Ocean. It is known to be an amazing location for both beach-combing and bird-watching. There is a large white cross on the bluff of the south end that commemorates a shipwreck of 1860, resulting in 38 lost lives. When the fog picks up, locals say it can be an eery place to visit.
This pretzel cart is actually ran by the Ferndale Middle School eighth grade, a fun way to teach kids about marketing, communication and business.
