Shopping in Downtown Nisswa
Nisswa was just voted the Best Small Town (under 5,000) in Minnesota! Here are a few of our fav spots in the charming downtown: Chocolate Ox, Rafferty’s Pizza, Loide Oils and Vinegars, Dairy Queen, Near and North (clothes), Zaisers (quirky gift shop), Turtle Town (books)
Paul Bunyan Trail Access
This trail is paved and stretches for more than 100 miles. Perfect for a run, bike ride, roller blading, or a walk! You can rent bikes at Up North Bike Rentals in downtown Nisswa and hop on the trail from there.
Veterans Hiking Trail
A lovely short hike that mixes marsh and woods, just off the main road.
Breezy Point Disc Golf Course
A fantastic local disc golf course that has recently been renovated!
Lum Park
With a playground, swimming area, and other outdoor activities, this is a perfect spot for family fun and an easy drive from the Baxter hotel area.
Crow Wing State Park
Hike, paddle, and bird your way through this expansive state park! There's prairie, pine, and hardwood forests for a little bit of everything.
Deep Portage Learning Center
It's a drive but Deep Portage has miles of deep woods hikes. We went birding here with friends and saw TWO different types of bluebirds. That's a big deal!
