It all started back in 2019—our senior year of high school. We first met on a double date, and even though we weren’t each other’s "plus ones," we couldn’t help but flirt the entire time. That night sparked six months of playful banter, stolen glances, and more than a few “will-they-won’t-they” moments in a classic game of cat and mouse. Kaelen asked Grace out more times than we can count—he was persistent. After about six months, Grace finally said yes. Our official first date was at the ALS dinner, where Kaelen met Grace’s entire (and extended) family… talk about nerve-wracking! That fall, life began to shift. Grace moved away to attend Central Michigan University and joined Delta Zeta. Kaelen stayed home for his first semester and went to MCC, but we stayed close. By spring semester, Kaelen transferred to CMU and joined Kappa Sigma—just in time for the world to turn upside down. The start of the pandemic brought uncertainty, confusion, and challenges no one could have expected. But through it all, we found ways to stay connected and grow even closer. After college, we moved back home and got an apartment together in Rochester. We also became dog parents to Bear, who brought lots of laughter (and a little bit of chaos) into our lives—but we wouldn’t have it any other way. On May 3, 2025—Grace’s birthday—Kaelen proposed in the most magical way, surrounded by our closest family and friends. It was the best night of our lives. As we prepare to say “I do,” we can’t help but reflect on all the memories we’ve created together. From late-night drives, prom, and study dates at the library to frat parties, campus walks, annual pumpkin carving competitions, spontaneous date nights, binge-watching marathons, vacations, and slow dances in the kitchen—our story keeps growing. And it’s our favorite one.
