Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 20th, 2025. Due to guest limitations at La Valencia, it's very important to let us know if you’ll be joining us by this date. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll assume you won’t be able to make it, and we’ll miss celebrating with you. We are so grateful for everyone who will be traveling to be with us, especially those traveling from afar – your presence means so much to us. Thank you for helping us plan our special day!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Formal Black Tie Optional, which means formal attire is encouraged. A tuxedo is welcome but not required; a dark suit with a tie or other formal attire is also perfectly suitable. Floor-length gowns, elegant cocktail dresses, or formal jumpsuits are great choices to match the occasion. We can’t wait to see everyone looking their best!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to guest limitations and our wish for an intimate gathering, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for your understanding, we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We’re so grateful for your attendance, and while we absolutely love your kids, we’re keeping our celebration for guests over 13 who are listed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I take photos/video during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask you to be fully present with us during this special moment by keeping your phones and cameras tucked away. We’ve hired talented professionals to capture every beautiful detail, and we want to ensure they can do so without any interruptions. Thank you for helping us create an intimate, distraction-free ceremony!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

All wedding events will be within walking distance of La Valencia, and La Jolla is a wonderfully walkable area, perfect for exploring on foot. If you’re staying elsewhere nearby, rideshare services like Uber are readily available for easy transportation. For those arriving from the airport, La Jolla is only a 20-25 minute drive, and rideshare services are convenient for getting to and from the area.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Be sure to check out the schedule for our weekend festivities! We’ll kick things off with welcome drinks at the Contemporary Art Museum on Friday evening. On Saturday, the ceremony and reception will take place at La Valencia, followed by an after-party at The Spot, just across the street, from 10 PM to 2 AM. Let’s make it a weekend to remember!

Question

What is a Persian wedding ceremony and what can I expect?

Answer

We are so excited to share John's rich Persian culture with you! Our ceremony will include beautiful traditions rooted in Persian customs, centered around the Sofreh Aghd, a symbolic spread filled with meaningful items representing love, prosperity, and unity. The ceremony will be led in both Farsi and English. It’s a celebration of love, culture, and togetherness, and we can’t wait for you to experience it with us!
