We met on an online dating site and made plans to meet in person on a Tuesday evening. When we agreed on the day and time neither of us realized it was Valentine's Day. One of us almost cancelled to avoid the awkwardness of a first date on Valentine's Day but we ended up meeting up at Buffalo Wild WIngs anyways. There is a certain irony to two of the least romantic people around having their first date on Valentine's Day. Our first year of dating was a whirlwind of adventures which included concerts, races, camping trips, and Jake meeting the kids. Jonah almost immediately started asking Jake when he was going to propose. In true Jake fashion he just laughed and rolled with the chaos. Eventually, though, Jake did propose. We were engaged in June of 2019 with plans to get married in the spring or summer of 2021. Obviously things didn't go as planned... We got married in a small, private ceremony on the shores of Lake Michigan in St. Ignace on August 17, 2020.
