We first crossed paths in our church, we stayed in the background of each other's worlds. He had be quietly observing me for months and early 2025 he gathered the courage to DM on Instagram after Sunday Service, the same service we sat next to each other, shout out to ECC Ushers! I replied out of courtesy, l knew l was bound to see him at church so didn't want things to feel awkward, l wasn't ready for a connection then, he respected that. But he didn't give up, he kept showing up, week after week he checked on me and asking me out, until one February evening l said my first 'yes' to our first date. So intentional, on that first date he brought a glass encased rose that l still keep today. My friend and l always joked that the man who brings flowers on the first date is your husband and for me it was true. A couple weeks later l said my second 'yes' to be his girlfriend, he had keychains engraved with our names and the date. We both still have those keychains to this day, small keepsakes that remind us of where it all truly began and the beautiful intention of each step. We went on countless dates, travelled together creating beautiful memories. During the October Hallelujah Challenge l intentionally prayed for my future, one of my prayer points in my journal was l would get engaged in November despite the fact that we had talked about a timeline for the next February. But, God answered my prayers on November 16, he asked me to marry him and l said my biggest and easiest 'yes'. It was surreal, like a moment gently pulled straight out of a prayer l had once whispered. Seeing the beautiful setup, there he was - my dream man, standing with my dream ring and all that happened didn't just feel like a proposal, it felt like a promise fulfilled, a dream answered and love divinely aligned. Every step we have taken brings us closer to our wedding day, 22 August, when we celebrate our love and union with all of you.
