The only night I've (Grace) ever been here is Friday or Sunday; why? Because of the FISH FRY! Complete with coleslaw, fried chicken, red or white wine and their famous (and totally mouth watering) Native American fry bread, The Pine Ridge's fish fry cannot be beat. In peak season, Grace's family has been known to wait outside for over an hour to get a table, so if you go here bring a deck of cards or a frisbee! If you stay until Sunday night, you can return to Pine Ridge for fish, chicken & a Spaghetti bazaar. Your noodles will either come buttered or with a delicious meat sauce.
When all you want is a slice of some good ol' Chicago Pizza, but you're behind the cheddar curtain, Paul's extra saucy and extraordinarily cheesy pizza will NOT disappoint. His menu extends beyond pizza, Paul's ribs, salads and sandwiches make him so popular, that, should you decide to darken the doors of his den, you should call ahead to get a table!
Swing by "Bees-N-Trees" for coffee, ice cream and lunch! Boat rentals are also available through "Bees-N-Trees" if the weather permits.
"The Landing" is one of the best— and only— restaurants ON the lake. We love their Friday Night fish fry and their fried pickles!
My dad (Tom Pointner) is the true expert on the Birchwood Cafe; he always orders "The Fisherman's Special" with the hash browns and bacon extra crispy. Located in the heart of downtown Birchwood, a quaint one-main-street kind-of town, Sarah and Betsy have been serving up extra crispy breakfast food for as long as I can remember. This is a must try on Saturday, Sunday or Monday morning!
Coffee! Everyone needs fuel in the morning, or the afternoon.... or the evening. Just off the old main street in Rice Lake, this coffee hub offers various food items and is neighbors with an antique shop!
From "Grandmas Garden" to the "Wicked Beast Bowl," this bake house provides a tasty breakfast or savory lunch to get you ready to celebrate on Saturday.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Being behind the cheddar curtain means more than just fried cheese curds and wheels of cheddar; it also means some of the best dairy products in the midwest (or the country). Although I am partial to the ice cream at Bees 'n Trees on Long Lake, any ice cream is good ice cream Up North. So if you're in Rice Lake and you're longing for a sweet treat, stop by the Milk Pail!
If you find yourself wanting a grassier activity on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, the Long Lake Area offers you multiple golfing options! Butternut Hills Golf Course, the closest to the wedding festivities, is a great option!
... a second golfing option!
... and a third option!
A fun museum for lovers of fish to visit! A little cheesy, but what isn't in Wisconsin?
