We’re getting married!

Although we knew of each other, we finally met at an LDC project. A couple of weeks later, we saw each other again at an anniversary party. We talked a little, but unfortunately no moves were made until Grace was about to leave. David stopped her and her family from leaving and asked Grace to dance. That was the move we were waiting for. While we were dancing, David informed Grace that he was leaving for disaster relief work in Jamaica. Grace knew she had to spend a little more time with David before he left, so she invited him and some friends over on a Sunday. David stayed a little too late for a Sunday night, but it was filled with playing games and getting to know each other. Still, David never got Grace’s number. A couple of days later, David left for Jamaica, which at the time was supposed to be six weeks. Finally, David’s wingman stepped in and said that when he got to David in Jamaica, they would call us—and they did! After weeks of FaceTiming as a group, David and Grace eventually started FaceTiming just the two of them after everyone else left the call. Then the FaceTimes led to texting. While David was in Jamaica for almost four months, he and Grace texted as much as possible and FaceTimed until the early mornings, getting just a few hours of sleep. When David came back from Jamaica, he finally confessed his feelings and asked Grace to date, which obviously she said yes to! Unfortunately, David went back to Jamaica and was planning to stay for a couple more months. The day after he got there, he asked if he could go home early—to be with Grace. David then came home after a month away, and we have been inseparable since 🤍
