Our story began when Dakota bought Cork and Keg and I worked a few doors down at Crown Beauty Bar. I (Grace) would go over to Cork and Keg after work with my friends around once a week, so when the boys bought it that’s how we met. We both had a crush on each other for a while, but neither of us did anything about it. For a few months we were just friends and then Halloween night changed everything. We decided to give it a shot finally and from there we were inseparable. By November 6th, we were officially dating. About a week after that, we told each other that we loved each other (seems fast, but when you know, you know). Two weeks into the relationship, he had already told his parents he would propose within a year. When he told me this, I was ecstatic which was crazy at the time because neither of us ever wanted marriage until we met. About two months in, he officially moved in, but this is neither here nor there considering he basically moved in from day one. When I said we were (and still are) inseparable, I meant it. And everything after those milestones has been nothing short of amazing. Our first roadtrip we ever took was on a random day in November, and this would lead into our engagement months later. We had both been sick for a while and were tired of being cooped up in the house, so we last minute decided to drive to In and Out in Dallas at 2 pm and planned to come back in the same night (insane plan, I know). On the way there we passed by the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant and started talking about how each of us has always wanted to go there. So instead of driving back home, we decided to book a room for the night and stay (best decision ever!). While we were there, we were walking through the casino (looking like bums, might I add) and a stranger stopped us to tell us that we looked like soulmates. We still have not stopped talking about that to this day. All in all, the trip was so much fun and full of so much love even though we were getting over being sick. Throughout the months that followed these events, we have been attached at the hip and have continued to live our lives like normal. We’ve taken trips to see my family down in South Arkansas many times and even got to fly out to see his in New Mexico/ Colorado back in December. Our families were equally as happy for us as we were/are, especially since they thought we’d never want to find our person or get married. Jokes on them, here we are! Now getting to the engagement, which is what ties this wedding all together. Although I knew the engagement was coming up, Dakota did such a good job at keeping me from knowing the plan. This was a huge deal because let’s be real, the man can’t keep anything from me and if you were around us a lot during the weeks leading up to the engagement, you know this lol. With this being said, he planned the most perfect engagement and something that was so true to us. He replanned our entire first road trip and made it come to light again. From the In and Out to the casino, it was all the same, except this time with a ring involved! His original plan was to propose in the room right before we went to dinner because he knew I didn’t want anyone around. Although he did do it in the room, he ended up doing it about 10 minutes after we got up there because he said “he couldn’t wait any longer.” With him doing this, it made it feel even more magical and just like us. We spent the rest of our night celebrating and having a great time. Needless to say, we love each other dearly and couldn’t imagine living life without one another. We can’t wait to get to Vegas and celebrate with all of you and have the most fun ever. P.s. If you didn’t put it together by the engagement story, be sure to look out for us serving In and Out at the wedding;)
