We met like many other millennial couples, through a dating app. Our first date was at a bar in Fort Wayne, Indiana called “Conner’s Rooftop"; Conner joked that he owned the place (he did not). Upon seeing the menu, Grace joked that we should take a tequila shot (we did). After more successful dates, we decided to take a shot on each other and make it official. While the pandemic started to shut the world down, we began to spend more time with one another. Normally on weekends, Grace would be traveling to visit friends or family, and Conner would be poolside coaching at various swim meets. The quality time we were able to spend together was priceless. Grace learned what an amazing cook Conner is, and Conner witnessed firsthand what a phenomenal artist Grace is. As time passed, we swore off motorized scooters forever, and moved in together. One of the things we both loved was coming home to each other. Grace will say that, “Every night was an ‘event’”, whether it was cooking together or the many card games of ‘Egyptian Rat Screw’ that Conner lost; she wears the crown well and stands at an impressive 18 win streak. Six months of living together had seemingly flown by and we couldn’t have been any happier with our little home and the life that we were sharing on South Wayne Ave. However, Grace was in the process of interviewing with jobs out of state. Conner never wavered in his support and we decided we would move wherever felt right together. Grace was offered and accepted a job in Charlottesville, Virginia; while Conner was granted the ability to work remotely. It truly felt like all the pieces fell into place. Unbeknownst to Grace, Conner planned to propose at a farewell party the day before we moved. It was so very special and we were thrilled to be able to celebrate with our families before moving. We have been through a lot in the past few years: job changes, a foot surgery, weekend getaways, three moves, four rounds of COVID, watching Seinfeld from start to finish, and countless memories. We are excited to create more memories celebrating our wedding with you!
