We met freshmen year of college at the Colorado School of Mines. Our wrestling and softball teams often attended the same "after school social gatherings" and we had some of the same classes together. We often studied together, ate questionable Market food in the same groups, and played video games in the wrestling dorms to ease the stress from school (shoutout Lucas - our best man - for the console setup). We quickly became very close friends and spent almost evening after school and practices together. Study groups became study dates, a friendship became a relationship, and the rest as led us to this fateful day.
"What seemed like an ordinary ski trip to Vail, CO beautifully turned into the most memorable moment in my life. Cole planned a weekend ski getaway in the mountains and shaped it as just another ski trip to mark off on our ski pass. Little did I know, he had met my father the week prior to ask his permission to marry me and had spent the last few months anxiously waiting for my ring to deliver and crafting my wooden and brass ring box. After a day of skiing, Cole and I went back to the condo to get ready for dinner and a show. He asked that we go for a walk to see the bridge near our condo which to my surprise was covered in a path of roses and tea lights. While I had my suspicions throughout the day, nothing could have prepared me for when he assured me that this was happening, it was not a dream, and that this was THE moment. He took my hand as we crossed the bridge and guided me through the path of roses where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Through my tears (and nearly blacking out) I said yes to forever." - Grace
In the six years since we met, we have endured many of changes, obstacles, and life lessons that have helped grow our relationship as it is today. We recently purchased our first home together in Aurora where we live with our fur babies Cali and Rusty. We both landed great engineering roles in the Denver/Golden, Colorado area, started a woodworking business to showcase Cole's beautiful talents, and are slowly renovating our house to make it our own.
