We’re getting married, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

It all started when Grace was chosen to be on the Wheel of Fortune back in March 2025. Her and her mom flew out to LA for filming. Grace had a great day on the Wheel- winning money and a trip to Italy, but her best prize was to come later that night. While at the hotel she noticed this random guy "Super Liked" her on a Christian dating app. Because of his rugged good looks (Cody is typing this), love for Jesus, and track and field background, Grace decided to give him a chance. After a week of messaging, they both wanted to meet in person but now they were 800 miles apart because Grace went back home to Colorado. But the crazy part was that Grace and her friends already had another trip planned to California to see her favorite singer, Ben Rector, just the next week! Cody drove two hours to meet Grace and their first date was amazing! After our first date, we knew there was something special and continued texting and talking all the time. Video calls became part of our routine and Cody even asked Grace to be his girlfriend and said "I love you" for the first time on these calls. Luckily, airplanes exist and we were able to travel to visit one another every couple months in California, Colorado, and even Michigan to meet Grace's family. When we weren't together, we played a lot of online games, read the Bible to each other, streamed Michigan games (Go Blue!), wrote letters to one another, and so much more. The relationship grew and grew... and once you know... you know. It was August/September when we started to talk more openly about marriage. We knew that we wanted to be engaged by the end of 2025. So, with only three in-person trips planned for the rest of the year (October in CA, November in CO, and December in CA) Grace had an idea of when Cody was going to pop the question. Cody still found a way to surprise the love of his life by sneaking into Colorado on October 24th (the day Grace was leaving for California). Long story short, Cody set up flowers and "MARRY ME" pictures on one of Grace's favorite hikes and asked her to marry him. She said yes and we traveled back to California as planned to celebrate! Cody wanted to ask Grace to marry him in Colorado, because Colorado is where they are going to live after they get married. Cody is able to keep his current job and work remotely and is looking forward to helping out at the Christian camp where Grace works. We are so excited to start their life together in Westcliffe!
