Grace and Bobby’s story begins at a bar in downtown Chicago. Grace had stepped up to order a drink when Bobby seized the moment, engaged her in conversation, and then asked if she would like to take a tequila shot with him. This bar is famous for throwing these shots at a bell, as the glasses are made of ice. Grace and Bobby, despite considering themselves athletes, both missed the bell completely. On the bright side, the shots turned into easy conversation, exchanged numbers, and a first date where they discovered they had many similarities, such as both being auditors at public accounting firms and having a love for sports. Soon they were spending more and more time together: exploring Chicago, playing intramural sports, going on trips, meeting each other’s friends and families, and trying new bars and restaurants. That foundation of fun, connection, and shared values led Bobby to propose in May 2025 on a bridge overlooking the city. He organized both of their families to travel to Chicago and celebrate, knowing how important family is to them both. Grace and Bobby feel overwhelmed with gratitude as they think of all the people who have shaped them into the couple they are today. They cannot wait to get married and celebrate with you all!
