Grace & Alex met on the Hinge dating app when they both thought they were dating for fun. How millennial of us. In 2021, Alex was deployed in Okinawa, Japan and set his location for Jacksonville, NC. Grace was in Emerald Isle, NC for family beach week. She and her mom were swiping through potential suitors (not like there were many, lol) and her mom told her to swipe right on Alex. We matched, chatted, and then waited for Alex to get back to North Carolina before getting to go on a date. Our first date was the day Alex got home from Japan in August 2021. He was jet lagged but couldn’t go to sleep yet so he offered a date a week earlier than originally planned. What we both thought was going to be fun, easy, and not serious turned inseparable almost immediately! Fast forward to February 2023 and Alex gets orders to be stationed in Bahrain. We scrambled to get married in 5 days to hopefully change the orders despite being terrified of the quickness of it all. Thankfully, we have been able to visit each other to help break up the time apart. Alex will be home for good this summer and we are so excited to finally celebrate with everyone!!
