Explore Montreal

We've compiled a few of our favourite restaurants & things to do in Montreal. Below is just a selection; for more in-depth recommendations by neighbourhood, please reach out to us!
Hike Mont-Royal

Hike Mont-Royal

If you want to escape to nature while not leaving the city, Mont-Royal has several trails and areas to visit. You can hike right up to the lookout for great views of the city, or choose from longer walks and hikes. The All Trails page for the mountain is linked below.

Explore the Old Port

Explore the Old Port

Visiting the Old Port of Montreal feels like escaping to Europe for a few hours. Check out the cobblestone streets, restaurants & cafes, the Bonsecours Market, the Montreal Science Centre, and ferris wheel (called the Grande Roue). If you're in the mood to treat yourself, make a reservation at Bota Bota, the Old Port's floating spa (linked below).

Atwater Market & Atwater Canal

Atwater Market & Atwater Canal

138 Atwater Ave, Montreal, QC H4C2H6, Canada

The Atwater Market and Atwater Canal are a few blocks away from our house in Little Burgundy, and are two of the many reasons we love our neighbourhood! The market is a one-stop shop for fruits & vegetables, cheeses, meat, flowers, and other goodies. In the summer, they have stalls from local restaurants where you can pick up lunch. Make an afternoon of it and sit by the Atwater Canal. There are also bikes and paddle boats to rent.

Arthurs Nosh Bar

Arthurs Nosh Bar

4621 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Montréal, QC H4C 1S5, Canada

A classic nosh spot in St-Henri. NOTE: Arthurs is quite popular and often has a long line. Go early to beat the line, or go on a weekday to beat the weekend rush.

Bagels Etc.

Bagels Etc.

4320 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, QC H2W1Z3, Canada

We went here on one of our first dates. It's a classic, down-to-earth Plateau brunch spot, and a favourite amongst Adam's friends! We highly recommend the Eggs Benedict.

Snowdon Deli

Snowdon Deli

5265 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, QC H3W3C2, Canada

Snowdon Deli is a no-frills staple for Jewish scoff in Montreal. Fill up on smoked meat sandwiches, matzo ball soup & other delicatessens.

Mandy's

Mandy's

Montreal, QC, Canada

For a healthy lunch option, Mandy's is a favourite of ours. We recommend picking up a Mandy's Cookbook when you're there; we make their salads at home all the time!

Le Vin Papillon

Le Vin Papillon

2519 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Montréal, QC H3J 1N4, Canada

Le Vin Papillon is right down the street from our apartment in Little Burgundy, and one of our favourite places for a date night. It's a wine bar with a seasonal menu & a great outdoor patio. The shaved ham and cheddar with brown butter plate is a MUST order.

Siam Centre-Ville

Siam Centre-Ville

1325 Boul. René-Lévesque O., Montreal, QC H3G 0A1, Canada
, 438.380.0655

Siam is our favourite spot in Montreal for Thai food. Their Tom Yum soup heals all wounds. Siam is located just a couple blocks away from the Sheraton, Novotel, and Fairmont hotels where we have organized hotel blocks.

Satay Brothers

Satay Brothers

3721 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Montréal, QC H4C 1P8, Canada

Satay Brothers is one of our favourite dinner spots for larger groups. Satay offers Asian street food (we recommend the bao buns & sticky ribs), and has a great party vibe.
