Visiting the Old Port of Montreal feels like escaping to Europe for a few hours. Check out the cobblestone streets, restaurants & cafes, the Bonsecours Market, the Montreal Science Centre, and ferris wheel (called the Grande Roue). If you're in the mood to treat yourself, make a reservation at Bota Bota, the Old Port's floating spa (linked below).
The Atwater Market and Atwater Canal are a few blocks away from our house in Little Burgundy, and are two of the many reasons we love our neighbourhood! The market is a one-stop shop for fruits & vegetables, cheeses, meat, flowers, and other goodies. In the summer, they have stalls from local restaurants where you can pick up lunch. Make an afternoon of it and sit by the Atwater Canal. There are also bikes and paddle boats to rent.
Le Vin Papillon is right down the street from our apartment in Little Burgundy, and one of our favourite places for a date night. It's a wine bar with a seasonal menu & a great outdoor patio. The shaved ham and cheddar with brown butter plate is a MUST order.
Siam is our favourite spot in Montreal for Thai food. Their Tom Yum soup heals all wounds. Siam is located just a couple blocks away from the Sheraton, Novotel, and Fairmont hotels where we have organized hotel blocks.
