We met freshman year of high school in Algebra, which is honestly the best thing either one of us probably have ever taken away from a math class in our life. Grace-Erin was 15, Sean was 14, and somewhere between solving for x and just trying to survive being teenagers, we more or less stumbled across each other‘s path. What started as a typical high school relationship somehow… never ended. Instead, it just kept going, growing up right alongside us. We went through all the phases of young life together proms, first jobs, big life decisions, and all the slightly chaotic years of figuring out who we are and what we want. There were no dramatic plot twists or grand declarations. Just a foundation built slowly, intentionally, and strengthened over time. Somewhere along the way, we became more than high school sweethearts. We became best friends. Partners in every aspect of life. The steady presence that makes even ordinary days feel meaningful. What was built isn’t the kind of love that burns fast and fades. It’s the kind that feels less like a head rush and more like coming home. By the time we got engaged, it didn’t feel like some huge surprise or plot twist. It felt like the most obvious next step in a story that’s been over a decade in the making. Lots of people say high school sweethearts don’t last because you change, grow up and grow apart. We did change. We did grow up. We just never grew apart. At the end of the day, we’re just really excited to keep doing what we’ve always done, choosing each other, every single day.
