We met online through Plenty of Fish and spent months texting before we had our first date. Recently I found out my Great Grandparents met through a 1930’s verion of online dating, called Lonely Hearts Club in the newspaper. I knew from the start that he was patient and understanding person because I was late to the date by and hour. Luckily he was still there willing to wait for me and always has been.

Now I am sure his story is a bit different than mine, but my memory of his proposal is one of the best memories that I have had with him. We had been wanting to get some time to relax and went to Descanso Gardens (sadly on one of the busiest days). We eventually found a nice quiet spot to relax. Then with his mother’s ring he had kept in his shoe, he got down on one knee. As he was asking, two women passed by unintentionally amd interrupted the proposal. They left and came back offering to take a photo for us. So silly, so us, and so perfect. These gardens have always been a special place for my family and me. Now after his proposal, the memories in the gardens are including new ones for our future together.
