Grant and Grace go way back… like glue sticks and snack time back. They first met in preschool at Chico Christian School, where their love story began before either of them could tie their own shoes. Grant has an incredible memory and can recall every tiny detail from their childhood, like what color shoes Grace wore in kindergarten (okay, maybe not that far). Grace, on the other hand, remembers… basically nothing. So, she depends on Grant for all the nostalgic throwbacks and childhood stories, and thankfully, he’s got plenty. They had crushes on each other for years. Grace even remembers writing about Grant in her diary back when she was still learning how to write in cursive. She thought he was the absolute best thing ever, and rumor has it, the feeling was mutual. In middle school, they sat next to each other in computer class and both remember blushing the entire time (though they’d never admit it back then). There was also the seventh grade dance, a major event at their small, private Christian school. Grace was asked to dance by not one, but two boys! But when her mom picked her up afterward, Grace had tears in her eyes. Why? Because the only boy she wanted to ask her, Grant, didn’t. After seventh grade, life pulled them in different directions. Grace went to Marsh Junior High, and later to Pleasant Valley High School. Grant stayed at Chico Christian and then went on to Chico High. They didn’t stay in touch, except for the occasional random text when an old memory resurfaced. Then came senior year. Grant posted something on Snapchat, and it contained *gasp* a grammatical error. If you know Grace, you know she simply cannot let that slide. She corrected him (as all great love stories begin), and that one little message rekindled their connection. The rest is history! They officially started dating on November 26, 2019, and have been best friends and soulmates ever since. Grant and Grace share a love of movies, music (ABBA and Laufey, specifically), Star Wars, and adventures.
