The Story of Us

Eric and Brittany met how most millennials meet nowadays. They both swiped right on each other’s online profiles…TWICE. Eric’s profile account somehow deleted itself before they had a chance to message each other. Eric reopened his account with a new profile and Brittany’s page showed up again by chance. Eric liked her page for the second time and hoped Brittany would message him first. Brittany noticed their accounts matched again and messaged Eric “Hey.” Such a deep, profound, and poetically worded one-liner made Eric respond to Brittany. Before they met in person Eric and Brittany’s phones both simultaneously decided to stop working. Brittany stalked social media accounts found “Erik” on Facebook and messaged him “I’m not ignoring your texts, my phone’s not working. I’m at the Apple store.” Eric messaged back stating he was experiencing the same issue and was also at the Apple store. Eric would tell Brittany years later how he strongly encouraged the Apple customer service technicians to fix the issue because he “had to text a girl.” When they finally decided to meet in person both agreed to meet halfway between them. Eric already knew Brittany loved tacos and took it upon himself to make a reservation for two at Besito’s. Brittany showed up to the restaurant first. This was the only occurrence where Brittany was early for a date with Eric. Brittany waited at the bar for Eric to arrive and when he walked in she thought to herself “I have no shot with this guy.” Eric was thinking “Man, how did this girl beat me to dinner?” Years later Eric admitted he was nervous on their first date. Brittany told Eric she thought he wouldn’t like her and didn’t feel nervous. Instead, she was just herself, so much herself that Brittany decided to make the argument that Cosmo Kramer was the best main character on the show Seinfeld and then went on to support her theory. Eric became angry because he hold-heartily disagreed with this statement and then went on to argue against Kramer. Both agreed that Jerry was both their least favorite character and that Jerry himself would agree with them on this issue. By the end of the dinner, both knew they liked each other and wanted to pursue a relationship. The two of them never went a day without talking from the moment the first swiped, till today.

The Proposal

The Best Day

Eric proposed to Brittany in the most “Eric-like” fashion. Eric blindfolded Brittany put her in the car and said “Trust me.” Eric then drove her to the Pocono Airport where he had a helicopter tour ready for them. After the 30-minute tour, the pilot said “Oh man, what’s that down there?” The helicopter then hovered over a sign that read “Will You Marry Me?” And in Brittany-like fashion, her response was “Shut up!” Brittany looked back and Eric and yelled “Yes!” The whole thing felt like a dream…
