How We Met

2010

We met when we were both in 8th grade at PRC Middle School. We were both dating different people when we first met and didn't speak to each other until the end of 8th grade. We soon began to notice each other when I began dating someone else who was Zack's friend. He asked me to start hanging out with his friends more, and that's when I began noticing Zack. He had long hair that he hid behind, but I could see him stealing glances regardless.

How We Became Friends

August 2011

Our relationship started to kick off our first day of high school. I was trying to be more outgoing and talk to people and went up to a group of our mutual friends Zack was talking with. I began talking and hugging everyone and then got to Zack. There was immediately a connection now that he was less terrifying with his short haircut. We exchanged phone numbers and began talking constantly.

Our First Kiss

October, 17, 2011

Zack began dating someone else until we realized our feelings for each other, but we were still talking constantly. He was casually dating her waiting to see how I felt, and she was dating him to make her ex (and also my ex) jealous. We began talking more and admitted our feelings for each other. I for some reason told him he would never kiss me, and the next day he grabbed me and kissed me in front of everyone.

How We Started Dating

October 25, 2011

A week after Zack kissed me, he broke up with the girl he was dating since it wasn't fair to any of us. We started dating each other, and our exes finally got back together (and are now happily married). We had a rocky start trying to figure out how we felt about each other, but when we got together at 14 and 16, we knew this was it. We have been together ever since and never let anything stand between us again.

The Proposal

February 9, 2019

We went to a Mardi Gras parade in town, and the whole time Zack was acting nervous. We then went to Chick-fil-A in Slidell where he became increasingly nervous and rushed me to go to his great grandma's house. We entered into his Granny's house, and he immediately rushed off to find his aunt and uncle, leaving me with Granny. He finally came back in and pulled me off the couch and could hardly get words out. When he finally got down on one knee (and almost fell over), all I could get out was "UH HUH" with lots of head shaking "YES". He then proceeded to try and put the ring on the wrong hand. His Granny then asked "When's the date?" She had been pushing us to get married for years, so of course we had to get engaged right in front of her!
