Grant and I met at a friends 18th birthday party many years back. We never really talked until we ran into each other later in life. When we talked and got to know each other, we really hit it off! We started spending a lot of time together until we started dating in April of 2018. Our relationship really began to grow and we realized we were perfect for each other. We moved in together about a year after dating. Things were going great! Grant and I both got good jobs. In 2020 I applied to nursing school in Tennessee. I got accepted!!! I started school in April of 2020. Him and I discussed marriage. Our plan was for me to finish school, move back home and we get a house together. Then, we would get married and have kids. Things don't always happen like you want them to. God had a different plan for us. I ended up finding out in July of 2020 that I was expecting a little one! We were over the moon excited!! I ended up in the hospital dehydrated from excessive morning sickness. Around November 2020, I ended up dropping out of school and moving back home. Being pregnant in nursing school is not for the weak. It was a hard decision but I figured it was the best for mine and my sons health. Plus, I was really missing Grant! We welcomed our son, Drake Louis Wilkerson, into the world on March 10, 2021. Life couldn't have been better! Being a new mom was extremely hard. Grant and I went through many rough patches. Our relationship was put to the ultimate test. Living with my parents and having a new baby was really hard on the both of us. After everything we went through, a lot of talking, ALOT of praying, we made it out. I honestly believe we are better because of it and we couldn't imagine life without each other! Grant and I are just better together! We can't wait until the day we say "I do"!
