Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Lauren Gottschalk and Jacob Wagner
Below is some of our favorite places and things to do, grouped by location. Looking for something specific? Reach out and we'll give our best recommendations.

Seattle Proper

Seattle Proper has so many well known and historical areas to visit! Check out the Pier, Aquarium, Waterfront Park, and of course, Pike Place Market, including the very first Starbucks! Other restaurants: **We recommend going to Pike Place Hungry** Biscuit Bitch: a famous breakfast joint Von's 1000 spirits: full of sourdough breads and pastas Pro Tip: We recommend *walking past* the very first Starbucks. Then visiting the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Capitol Hill (20 minute walk from Pike Place Market)

Pike Place Market

85 Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98101

We recommend coming hungry! Our favorite food stalls are the famous Pike's Place Chowder, Mr. D's Greek Delicacy's for some tasty gyros, The Confectional (free cheesecake samples!) and El Mercado Latino for their empanadas. Be sure to stop by Jack's Fish Spot and hopefully 'spot' a fish toss! And, don't forget about the infamous gum wall. The very first Starbucks is located here. We recommend walking past it to sneak a peak but then visiting the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Capitol Hill (20 minute walk). The Pier/Aquarium and Art Museum are all close by. You could either walk or uber to any of these. Pro tip if driving: Parking can be tough. We recommend trying the Market's several parking locations (Pikes Place Marketfront or Pikes Place Market Garage). If you can't find parking there, 1st Avenue has several options.

Seattle Aquarium

1483 Alaskan Way Pier 59, Seattle, WA 98101

The Seattle Aquarium just opened up a brand new building - the Ocean Pavilion! Step out of the Pacific Northwest and into a warm, bright and vibrant underwater world. Our favorites include their Giant Pacific Octopus, otters, seals, sea lions, and birds! Pro Tip: The Aquarium is located on the main Pier, close to Pike's Place Market. Last entry is at 5pm. Pro Tip: If you are interested in several museums, Space Needle, Zoo, Chihuly Garden Glass, and other attractions, consider a Seattle CityPASS: https://www.citypass.com/seattle

Waterfront Park

This brand new park is absolutely stunning! Located near Pikes Place, the Aquarium, and the Great Wheel, walk the pier to shop, eat, and get some great pictures.

Also called "Cap Hill". This is the most happening neighborhood in Seattle! Restaurants: Starbucks Reserve Roastery (no reservation required unless you want a flight, tour, or experience) Taylor's Shellfish (also one located near space needle) Menya Musashi Tsukemen & Ramen - unfussy and delicious Salt & Straw - Seattle's local ice cream shop Meet Korean BBQ - definitely a "treat yourself" place, come with stretchy pants (Reservations recommended) Taku - anime inspired fried chicken joint Elysian Brewery - several locations! Home of "Space Dust IPA" and great bar food.

Lower Queen Anne Neighborhood

Lower Queen Anne is home of the Space Needle, Chihuly Gardens & Glass, MoPOP Museum, and Climate Pledge Arena (Kraken hockey and concert venue)! Restaurants: Taylor's Shellfish: the best oyster's you'll ever have! Queen Anne Beerhall: Need we say more?

Experience the PNW

We moved to the PNW for its great outdoors, and we hope to share it with you! If you are looking for a specific type of hike, please reach out to us. A breathtaking waterfall cascading 268 feet over granite cliffs. Snoqualmie Falls is the second most visited natural landmark in Washington after Mount Rainier. It is more than twice as high as Niagara Falls! Pro Tip: you can see the falls with or without a hike! A short hike is takes you down to the bottom of the falls and back up, but be warned it is steap. Check out the town of Snoqualmie afterwards! Washington's first railway town.

Mount Rainier National Park

**Timed Entry reservations required to enter the Sunrise Corridor or Paradise Corridor!** There are plenty of hikes you can do w/o a reservation, but you will be unable to take the main path or go to the visitor's centers You can't visit Seattle without visiting Mt Rainier! About 3 hours south of the city (though very scenic) visit this stunning volcano. Perfect for people of all abilities, you can drive the scenic loop (with a reservation), visit the many lakes and short walking paths, or test out your adventure skills with one of the more strenuous hikes and reward yourself with breathtaking views!
