Anyone who knows us knows we love a good flea market!! Original artwork, eclectic jewelry, live music, yummy snacks, and glass blowing demonstrations-- needless to say this place became one of our all-time favorites after visiting with the Phillips family before attending Pageant of the Masters! Hours are 11am to 7pm, Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 10pm, Friday/Saturday.
The beach is an all time favorite place for us as a couple. Not to mention for Cindy Lou. There are TONS of amazing beaches and tide pools to explore in Laguna. Head to Treasure Island Beach for gorgeous views and a secluded little cove Crescent Bay is perfect for kayaking and coming face-to-face with seals, sea lions and dolphins. Victoria Beach is home to an interesting castle-like structure that can be reached at low tide. Aliso beach also has fire pits for bonfires!
That’s right. The pantry is the home of the “best breakfast burrito Ian has ever had. If you’re looking for a quick but memorable brunch be sure to stop by for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. If you’re looking for a local dinner come back and check out Sapphire— reservations are recommended!
There are lots of little galleries throughout the town as well as a selection of different exhibitions. A good place to start is the Laguna Beach Art Museum, which houses an impressive collection of historic and contemporary Californian art, focusing on the cultural heritage of California. It costs $7 for adults; $5 for adults and seniors; and is free for under 12s. The museum is closed on Wednesdays. Visiting the many local galleries in Laguna is a MUST!
Remember that episode of Arrested Development where Michael Cera re-creates the famous Michael Angelo painting "The Creation of Adam" on stage? This is the iconic show that he was participating in. Watch actors stand as still as possible to recreate historic paintings as "living pictures" for audiences. If you love art you'll love this. And if you have a sense of humor you'll still probably love this. Tickets start at $55 and can be purchased on the website.
I promise you will find yourself wandering down a magical alley way that looks like it was plucked out of New Orleans and dropped into Southern California. When you do, be sure to stop by Gelato Paradiso for artisanal small batch gelato. Ian favs: Banana Gelato & Chocolate Gelato. Em’s favs: Limone Sorbet & Mango Sorbet.
