It’s funny how two people can be in the same places, know the same people, and still not really meet—until the timing is just right. We had been around each other for years—through church camps, mutual friends, and overlapping circles. But somehow, we never truly connected. That all changed when Brianna decided to return to Texas Bible College campus after doing Bible college online. At the time, Jantz was a sophomore, and though we were technically acquaintances, we had never really spoken. That changed during a class we had together. During one of Brianna’s presentations, Jantz laughed at something—not the content, but the subtitles (aka, her facial expressions). She turned to him, confused, and asked what was so funny. That joke sparked our very first conversation. Ironically, it was the last day of class, and Brianna came stumbling in late, nearly missing her final exam. Life has a funny way of putting things into motion when you least expect it. Not long after, we found common ground in missing people we both cared deeply about. Jantz had grown close with Brianna’s cousin, Joshua McNeely, and his family. When the McNeelys moved away, Brianna was supposed to go with them but couldn’t—so Jantz’s family went instead. We started talking more, bonding over how much we’d miss the McNeelys, not realizing something even more meaningful was beginning. Then came January. Winter break ended, and we returned to TBC. That’s when our story really took off. One day, Brianna was rushing around, busy with work and definitely not feeling photo-ready. From across the cafeteria, Jantz yelled, “Bri, you look like a bum!” She marched over, gave him a piece of her mind, and stormed off. Later that day, he teased her again in the office—and though she was on the move, she wasn’t about to let him get the last word. She called him on Facebook Messenger, ready to roast him again. But somewhere in the middle of that conversation, something shifted. We started going to the gym together, texting for hours, and hanging out more often. Then Jantz, always the jokester, asked Bri out for coffee in a way that made her think he was just being silly. She replied, “Yeah, sure—pick me up at 8,” not knowing that date would change everything. On February 16th, Brianna officially became Jantz’s girlfriend—and from that moment on, we’ve never left each other’s side. May 31, 2025, WE ARE ENGAGED!
