We met at medical school, chatting and flirting in the halls between classes. Daniel always smelled good and I liked to steal his coffee in the mornings. We shared a love for medicine, working out, and most importantly...The Bachelor. Daniel says he told his friend he was "gonna marry that girl" the first time he saw me...and here we are.

Before I ever had the plan for the proposal I simply asked Alexis if there were any parts of the proposal that she would really be upset if they were left out. She said no and after reconsidering she said, "well as long as our families are there and my nails are done I'll be happy". I then got to planning. Alexis grew up on Virginia Beach and surfed her entire life. This made the beach a no brainer when choosing the place to propose. The difficult part was the surprise. Nothing gets by Alexis. Her mom was so nice that she allowed me to use her birthday (I think it was her 28th?) as a cover for Alexis to get dressed up and get her nails done. We then told Alexis that her mom wanted to look at a property on the North End prior to her birthday dinner. I would then convince her to go check out the water and pop the question there. I also planned on having our family there after. On the day of the proposal I wasn't nervous at all because I'm as cool as they get. Her mom took her out to get their nails done and after multiple attempts of asking, Alexis turned down her nails because the hospital didn't allow it when working. After a rocky start, the rest of the plan went through perfectly. We arrived at the property Alexis thought her mom was viewing, I then convinced her to go out to the water. It wasn't until I said lets walk onto the sand that she realized something was going on. She even looked at me and said "wait, you're going to propose! Where is it?" Then started patting me down. Thankfully my best friend said yes! Then our families and friends came out of hiding and celebrated the rest of the day with us. I didn't get the nails part, but met one of the two requirements. She still kicks herself to this day because her nails weren't done for the close up ring pictures...
