You and I are soup snakes.

And the reason is because in terms of the soup we like to . . .

Our First Date

9-11-2014

In the sunset of summer, the couple met blindly at La Bistro Montage in Southeast Portland. Walking up to the building, Teressa was struck with the reality of the date and quickly called him to buffer the encounter. The icebreaker did the job as the pair reach the corner from where Jeff peeked with a boyish side smile. Both parties feeling built up nerves, there was a fair discomfort in the initial moments. He inquired of her interest in traveling, she asked if he believed in ghosts. Today there is speculation as to who made the initial suggestion, but it was agreed that seared alligator tail would be the perfect way to cut the tension. And it was upon this foundation of adventurous eating – not to mention endless quoting of “The Office” - that love began to blossom.

Making a Home

5-13-2019

After years of living in different cities, the two excitedly converged in Beaverton to grow and develop their full time family with Jeff's two sons, Ezra and Asher.

The Proposal

12-07-2019

The morning was busy as the adjusting family readied for what Teressa believed would be New Year photos. Her efforts focused on styling a fresh haircut; Jeff stretched himself between keeping the day's schedule, pressing Ezra's shirt, and prepping both boys for a long drive, all the while Dave Matthews Band resounding into the anxious mind of a man about to propose. They trekked out to the Columbia River Gorge to meet the photographer. While capturing photos of them all playing around, Asher put his jacket on and out from his pocket fell a Ring Pop. As soon as the lolly hit the ground, he burst into tears and wailed “I BLEW IT!” Jeff quickly pulled the boy aside to calm his nerves. Teressa thought nothing of it; his secret was still safe. A brief walk later, the party found themselves at a picturesque cliffside. Teressa was urged into place, and the energy changed. Asher revealed (intentionally this time) his candy, broken from the aforementioned flinging. It wasn’t until Ezra dropped down on his knee, Ring Pop extended, that Teressa was aware of the scheme. And when Jeff’s cue came, he began by saying “This is happening now . . .” Luckily for the three awkward gentlemen, she saw the love in every stumble and gave Jeff a yes!
