We met eight years ago while camping for a convention. We were both young and had no intentions, nor feelings for each other at the time. As the years went by, we got to know each other more as friends, through gatherings we both got invited to, hikes, and even during the pandemic zoom game nights. Then in early 2023 things started to change. We were both interested in other people that didn't work out, and we helped each other through our respective heartbreaks, which only made us draw closer to each other. One day a few months later, we were both on an LDC (Local Design Construction) project, making jokes, having fun, being good friends. For Evan, that was when he realized his feelings, for Mackenzie however, she didn't realize for another month. Neither of us bold enough to tell the other until July 16th 2023, where over texting we finally confessed how we felt to each other. But it wasn't easy after that, we both wanted to keep growing and mature before we started dating. But distance only makes the heart grow fonder, our love just continued to grow for each other day after day, waiting somewhat patiently until we were ready. Back to camping, but this time it's 2024 and it's a different campground, we're much older now and deeper in love. Evan asked me to be his girlfriend on July 14th 2024. And after dating for eight months, he then proposed on our eight month anniversary. He told me to dress up because we have a reservation at a nice restaurant by the shore, but first we have a stop to make at a park on the way so he can show me something he did and give me a small gift. When we got there we walked over to some trees where he told me to close my eyes and then he handed me a single white rose, then he told me to close my eyes again and he took me by the hand leading me down a slight hill to a paved walkway, he then put his hands over my eyes led me a few more steps and said happy anniversary baby and revealed the arch he has set up, we walked to the middle of it and he got on one knee and asked me to spend all of forever with him, and of course I said yes, a thousand times yes. But that's not the end of the story, only the begining of our next chapter in life. We appreciate everyone who has supported us in our relationship and in our lives, we love you all and can't wait for you to be in this next chapter of our lives.
