While a couple hour gap between the end of Mass and the wedding reception are common in the Midwest, it's not in the South! Head right on over to the reception hall at the end of the Wedding Mass for cocktails and food.
While there is not a mandatory dress code, the Bride and Groom do kindly ask guests to wear black tie, formal, or semi-formal attire. Please also keep modesty in mind, and dress appropriately out of respect for the Mass and the beautiful Sacrament of Marriage that guests are gathering together to witness.
We would highly recommend renting a car or carpooling with other guests if traveling into the New Orleans airport. Guests should be able to access an Uber from the Gulfport airport to travel to Bay St Louis. And while there are Ubers available throughout the Mississippi Gulf-Coast area for travel, Bay St Louis and neighboring towns are not major cities! Guests may need to be patient when requesting an Uber or Lyft for travel.
Friday is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church. Luckily, there are an abundance of mass times nearby. Our Lady of the Gulf in Bay St Louis has masses for the Friday Holy Day at 7 am, Noon, and 6 PM. Holy Family Parish in nearby Pass Christian has mass Friday at 8:30, Noon in the St. Paul Chapel, and 7:00 PM. For Sunday mass options, OLG has a 8 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM Latin Mass, and 5:00 PM mass. Holy Family has an 8:30 AM, an 11 AM, and a 5:00 PM mass.
