Our story began in 2019 when we started talking, and soon after, on August 2, 2019, we officially began dating. Not long after, the world changed with COVID-19, and both of our schools went online. We decided to make the most of it and live together in Georgia until Dalton had to leave for BOLC. In June 2020, we welcomed our first dog, Clyde, a coonhound mix who quickly became part of our little family. That October, Dalton left for six months of BOLC training, and we navigated long distance. By December, we reunited for the holidays with Dalton’s family and even made a magical trip to Disney World together. In August 2021, we began living together again, this time in Washington. That season of life was filled with adventures: exploring Mount Rainier, standing on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, celebrating our anniversary in Leavenworth, hiking Mount St. Helens, and so many more memories we’ll always treasure. During our time there, we also made wonderful new friends who became such an important part of our journey. When our time in Washington ended, we packed up and set out on a road trip to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where we would spend the next six months. Along the way, we visited Arches National Park, adding another unforgettable stop to our journey. While in Oklahoma, we grew our family once more by adopting Ares, a red fox Labrador. After Dalton graduated from the Captains Career Course, we moved to Fort Riley, Kansas. Here, we settled into a home of our own, continued building our life together—and got engaged.
