As any modern love story would have it, we met on a dating app... not once, but twice! Gordie liked Reagan's Hinge profile and Reagan "accidentally" declined. We both deleted our profiles for a period of time. Upon redownloading, Gordie gave Reagan a second chance and this time Reagan accepted! On our first date at Bar.Bacoa (a restaurant in Atlanta) we talked about our faith, family, and growing up in Ohio. Reagan's key takeaway from the date was that Gordie wasn't much of a traveler. Gordie's key takeaway was that Reagan (and her whole family) were a bunch of nuts (Go Bucks!). We decided to go on a second date a week later, which we often refer to as a two-part date. The first part consisted of going to mass at Cathedral of Christ the King (where we are getting married!) and breakfast at Ponce City Market. We enjoyed spending time together and learning more about each other. Later that afternoon, we decided to reconnect and go for a walk on the Beltline then grabbed dinner at New Realm (where we are hosting our welcome party). We loved spending time together and quickly introduced each other to our families! Over the course of the next year, we created many wonderful memories and grew more in our love for each other. We even trained for and ran the Atlanta marathon together (a lot of our training was through Piedmont Park, where we are having our wedding reception). Our proposal is one of our favorite memories. A year into our relationship (January 2025), Gordie asked Reagan's dad, Jeff, for his blessing to propose. A few months later, we went to Ohio to celebrate Easter with Reagan's family. Only McKenzie (Reagan's sister) knew that Gordie had brought the ring home and was going to propose that week! As Reagan would tell the story, on any normal Thursday morning, Reagan, McKenzie, and Debbie (their mom) went to a Pilates class in the morning. Reagan was working from home when Gordie and McKenzie asked her if she wanted to go out for lunch. Before doing so, however, Reagan was told to change out of her workout clothes. Gordie, Reagan, and McKenzie enjoyed lunch at Skyline Chili in Cincinnati. Later that afternoon, Gordie convinced Reagan that he had a bad day at work and needed to get out of the house. McKenzie's job was to corral Debbie and Jeff into the kitchen without acting suspicious because they did not know it was the big day. Meanwhile, Gordie led Reagan to the gazebo in her childhood neighborhood where he popped the question (no hair, no makeup, and no cameras). It was perfect and Reagan was so surprised! On the way back home, Gordie tells Reagan "Oh, by the way, your parents don't know we just got engaged." We got to walk home and surprise Reagan's parents with the news of our engagement! We enjoyed sharing the news with family and friends before getting dressed up to go take some pictures (including the one on our Save-the-Date). We love living life together and some of our favorite memories have been travelling together (Reagan accomplished her mission to get Gordie to travel more!). We recently enjoyed two international trips to Italy and Ireland. We also went out west to celebrate Gordie's 30th birthday and enjoyed hiking in Zion National Park. We also bought our first house at the end of 2025 and have enjoyed settling into life in the suburbs of Atlanta. We are really looking forward to getting married and are excited to celebrate our big day with our closest family and friends!
