If you’re looking for some natural beauty, Clifty has plenty of trails to follow and waterfalls to chase! Trail 6 & 7 are mildly rugged and you can see views of 3 of the falls in Clifty gorge in under 2 miles. Be sure to grab a map at the park entrance.
Just take a walk down Main Street in downtown Madison. There are plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants, the Broadway Fountain, not to mention one of the nation's largest National Historic Landmark Districts. Visit the link below for more information about what to see and do.
Locally brewed unique craft beer, and guest taps. Great atmosphere for groups, and an outdoor patio. Check for Thursday-Saturday night Live Music. Rehearsal dinner will be here Friday the 16th with a cash bar open for anyone to stop by afterwards.
Did you know The Ohio River Valley has the largest “designated” wine region in America? Us either. Lanthier is part of The Indiana Wine Trail, a group of 5 wineries of the region continuing a history and tradition that began two hundred years ago when Swiss immigrants planted vineyards near Vevay. Their distillery also has a range of vodka flavors to try. The unique atmosphere alone makes it worth a stop, but they have free samples too! Go early, they usually close at 5-6pm.
Located in a mid-1850s old livery and blacksmith shop, the Thomas Family not only offers great wine, but also cheeses, charcuterie, delicious fresh hearth-baked bread, draft cider, meade, and Viking mule. Free tastings every day before 5pm. Call ahead and they will have a charcuterie board waiting for you after the ceremony.
This beautiful hike begins right in town and gives you the option of taking a left for an easy walk along the creek or following the railroad tracks toward the right for a challenging steep hike up the abandoned Madison Railroad Incline Cut, previously the steepest incline of any standard gauge railroad in the country. The cliffs lining the tracks make it a site to see.
Just like any other Ohio River marina. Buckets of beer, cheap bar food and great river views. Naturally, one of our favorite places to go. You can also rent golf carts here to drive around town.
