How far is the resort from the airport?

Answer

The resort is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. There are plenty of transportation services available to book as you leave the Cancun airport. If you would like to book your transportation ahead of time, the resort recommends AMSTAR for private transportation. What does an all-inclusive resort include?

Answer

While nightly rates might seem more expensive than a typical resort, keep in mind your nightly rate of your room includes ALL drinks and ALL food during your stay. Once you arrive, your only expenses will be transportation and tipping!

What happens if the resort sells out?

Answer

If the resort sells out of rooms, you will have to stay at a resort nearby. We recommend booking your rooms ASAP. If you stay at an alternate resort, there will be entry fees upon entering the wedding resort, subject to availability.

Should we bring wedding gifts with us?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, if you would like to honor us with a gift, it is preferred to send all gifts to our residence, so guests do not have to travel with them. 808 W Van Buren St. Unit 612 Chicago, IL 60607 A wedding card box will be at our reception.

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Sorry - only our immediate family are bringing their kids as they are our flower girls and ring bearers. The rest of the wedding is adults-only.

Will I have to leave the resort?

Answer

No! The beauty of an all-inclusive resort is everything you need is there! The resort has 9 restaurants, 6 bars and nightly entertainment!

Will I need cash?

Answer

Transportation from the airport typically allows credit cards, but you might want to tip your drivers/have extra cash just in case. It is also common to tip servers at the pool daily and to tip restaurant servers per meal. All-inclusive resorts take USD for tips, so you do not need to get Mexican Pesos.

Can I take pictures and post them during the wedding?

Answer

Feel free to take and post any pictures during the weekend and wedding festivities! Look for the QR Codes at our reception to upload any photos you take to our shared wedding album!

Can I drink the water?

Answer

Yes! Resorts typically filter their water and use filtered water for ice, so it is safe to drink. Do not drink the tap water in your room.

Will I need a passport?

Answer

Yes - please plan in advance if you do not have a passport or if it is expired. Passports can take a couple of months to receive. If you are new to traveling internationally, Global Entry which comes with TSA Precheck would be recommended for more convenient traveling in and out of the country. Are there other resorts to stay at near by?

Answer

While there are many housing accommodations in the Cancun area, please keep in mind if you do not stay at the wedding resort (Dreams Riviera Cancun), you will have to schedule your own transportation, as well as pay a fee per day ($65-$85/day) anytime you enter the wedding resort. The wedding day is guaranteed entry with a fee. Any other day you wish to visit is subject to availability (our Welcome Party, the day before the wedding and Recovery Party, the day after the wedding). A passport is required for entry.

Will my cell phone work?

Answer

Your cell phone should work with no additional charge, as long as you are connected to Wi-Fi. The resort does offer free Wi-Fi. Keep in mind, when you land in Cancun, the airport typically does not have Wi-Fi. Your phone will work once you arrive at the resort. If you book transportation from the airport ahead of time, make sure you communicate on a pick-up location before you land. To be safe, you can add a temporary international plan to your existent phone plan to avoid any unexpected charges.
