The Cheese 'n' More Store
One of our favorite local spots. It has an old general store atmosphere owned by the local Mennonite community. They have a huge variety of cheeses, deli meat, candy, nuts, spices, jams, relishes, homemade sandwiches and salads. Their lunch combos are freakishly delicious, and we've never had a better potato salad than we have here!
Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory
A super fun 1-mile hike nearby the wedding location with a beautiful view overlooking the valley and mountains below. If you're an early bird--some mornings you can see the clouds settled between the mountains and can watch them rise into the morning sky along with the sun.
Momma Joan's Diner
A cute local diner nearby owned by one of our family friends. Every time we go, we have gotten something different and enjoyed it every single time. Make sure you leave space for dessert; there is a variety of homemade desserts offered and they are always delicious!
Chico’s Mexican Restaurant II
One of our favorite Mexican restaurants is right around the corner. They have fresh and delicious food and margaritas! We've never had a bad time going out here!
Briergarten
Fun fact you can also find the photo used for this section on Briergarten's social media pages! Our favorite beer options on their menu are the #4 and the #12!
The Washington Street Pub
One of our favorite places to go out for a few drinks and playing darts and/or pool! Fun fact: Josh always wins at both and pool and darts and Juliana takes this personally. They also have the ability to play your song choices through the app TouchTunes. We once spent about 12$ fighting the bartender to play Kiss me thru the phone by Soulja Boy. LOL
The Wild Bean
We love their breakfast burritos and the massive selection of coffees, teas, and smoothies if you're looking for a pick me up or something refreshing and tasty! (the smoothies are a personal favorite of ours)
Hill & Holler
When we first got engaged, we came here to celebrate with pizza and beer! They have some of the best brick oven pizza around. Our favorite toppings to order are pepperoni, banana peppers, and mushrooms.
Lost World Caverns
Lost World Caverns has been a location we come back to time and time again. We highly recommend going for a tour of the cave! If you're feeling brave, please try a caving exploration tour where you get suited up and go few hundred feet into the belly of the earth! Fun fact--Juliana's sister Alaina leads tours here! (the gift shop is fantastic!)
The Sportsman Tavern
One of our favorite bars where we love to shoot some pool and try our hand at shuffleboard. It is one of WV's oldest continuously operating bars. It has a laid-back atmosphere and occasionally live music!
