We both got an email from our favorite band, Linkin Park, to "be part of something". We both joined the lottery and won a single ticket to a mystery event to take place a few days later. We were told to meet in a parking structure at noon in Los Angeles. We went through security and sat in the very back of Bus 12 while we all excitedly guessed what might be happening next. Jarid wanted to find an excuse to get to know Kayla better, so he invited Kayla and some of the other Linkin Park fans we met at the back of the bus to hang out for dinner before driving home. Jarid convinced everyone to exchange numbers at dinner, successfully securing the REAL phone number he was after. That was the beginning of Jarid and Kayla's journey to being part of something forever!
