FATE

If it's meant to be, it will be.

Take it back about a decade - to a guy and a gal and a tiny private college near Kansas City, Missouri. To strangers crossing paths dozens of times, never meeting, without ever realizing that their future could be in the same room. To a small campus with a handful of buildings. To chance encounters with the people closest to the strangers, without the strangers ever having met themselves. To a college that boasted some ridiculous 40-something% marriage rate among students (which we mostly just laughed at)... Fast forward a few years - to those same strangers, now separated by distance, the guy in Tennessee, the gal in Florida. To two young, independent, hard-headed people existing hundreds of miles apart, each believing they had beaten the silly 40-something% odds stacked against them since orientation at that same tiny private college... Fast forward a couple more years - to two strangers whose lives had pulled them into settling in Tampa, Florida. To two strangers who took a chance at finding "love" online. To two strangers who had left everything behind at that tiny private college in the Midwest to chase a new adventure and ended up settling down to find... the future AND the past. To a chance encounter that eventually revealed that - even after all these years - the stupid 40-something% marriage rate from Billy Jewell Bible School caught up with them in the end. What are the odds that two strangers managed years at a tiny college campus - dancing at the same parties, taking classes in the same halls, eating in the same cafeteria, hanging out in the same buildings - while they remained just that... strangers... before eventually making their way 1,250 miles away, only to find their future in each other online in the end? At some point, you have to recognize that odds & chances probably have less to do with it than a God who brought two strangers together at the right time... FATE.
