Our love story would not have been possible without a dear mutual friend of ours, Stephanie. Stephanie tried for months to set us up, and the timing wasn't right until February 2021. She called me and said, "Hi! Do you have plans Friday? Now you do.... Chuy's 7 o'clock! By the way the Ruben is coming.... Daniel and I will see you there!" The rest was history. The Proposal It was the afternoon before New Year's Eve, I came home from work early. Ruben surprised me with dinner reservations to Smoke. After an amazing dinner, he suggested we check out the Philbrook Museum. We walked around Philbrook and looked at all of the exhibits and shared many laughs. Ruben had never been to Philbrook before, so I mentioned how beautiful the gardens were. We walked outside through the gardens and as we approached the dome; he said, "I know you love art and Italy, and we are out here in these Tuscan style gardens under the moon and the stars... (He then got down on one knee) and I couldn't think of a better place to ask you to marry me?" I immediately said, "YES!"
