Back in 2011, while attending Temple University, Michelle was roommates with Taylor, who was dating, and is now married to, Andrew's brother, Dan. Michelle asked Dan if he knew any single men. Dan replied, "my brother." After only a few text messages between them, Andrew and Michelle decided to go on a blind date. They bonded over their love of beer, traveling, and their complementary ambitions in life. Over the next few weeks, Michelle and Andrew went on several more dates. Then, on February 10, 2012, they became an official couple.

The proposal was a long time coming. For almost 10 years, Drew and Michelle conquered the world. This included traveling to multiple countries, getting their master's degrees together while dating long-distance, and moving cross country (and back!). On a Sunday morning in September, Drew realized that he couldn't wait any longer to spend forever with the love of his life. He then asked Michelle "... will you marry me?" While not elegant, he was a nervous wreck and wanted to ask before he chickened out.
